What gives you direction in life?

What gives me direction in life? The bratty answer would be GPS!!!

I’m not sure I really have a direction. I get up in the morning bc of a combination of my kitty walking all over me until I get the hint to get up and feed him and the need to go to school. On weekdays I go to school bc it is required of me. On weekends I either do what my parents want us to do as a family or sit and read or watch TV or do my blog or do my homework. In the mornings or evenings of each day or often both, I’ll go for a run or keep fit in some other way. School nights I have a soft bed time of 9:30pm with lights out NLT 10:00pm, will an extra hour on weekends and holidays. When I graduate school i’ll go to collage and switch out school and homework for collage and coursework. Beyond that I have no idea. My course through life is kind of rudderless. I go where others steer me or direct me and sometimes feel i am drowning.

I remember a quote, I think it is H.P. Lovecraft: My life is a contemptible lethargy, devoid alike of vice and virtue.

Hi! I’m Madison, the f**ked up daughter of high achieving parents and amazing siblings. I have extreme social anxiety/panic attacks, am, at best, average in so many ways, and feel like a failure most of the time. But enough about me, how are you? :) OK, so like my go to setting is self-hate/defensive but I’m not a bad person, just someone who is bad at personing. If you reach out to me then expect all teeth and claws and nastiness and spite. It’s my default setting. I wish it wasn’t. But it is. Please know that but try anyway.

      Thanks! To be honest, I’m still young enough that I’m still figuring out who I am. To try and plan my life’s journey out now would probably not see it follow that path. As I see it, it’s a bit like land navigation – I’ll plot a course, but understand I may need to adjust as I go along.

    Pursue your passions/interests. You don’t need to have life all figured out but you should enjoy what you do.

    Madison you are in touch with who you are right now. That’s what’s giving you direction. Your ability to express yourself although entertaining, allows who you are to stay afloat under the weight of growing into who you choose to be as you get older. 🫶🏼 Stay Madison that’s enough!

    I read several of your posts. You are an exceptionally talented writer. That’s a gift that can’t be taught, that natural flow of thoughts from your mind to your keyboard. You really ought to consider a career in creative writing… just my 2 cents 😎
