This is kind of a silly prompt to me. Although there are many places I would like to visit or visit again, I don’t really focus on places not to visit.

Sure, no desire to go to war zones or places where the government are evil and mean, but who really has a bucket list of things not to do?

Really, I would prefer a prompt about places people want to visit and why, or places that totally changed their expectations.

One country I once visited that really gave me new perspective was Turkey. Like in the US there were stray dogs and cats around, but unlike over here they were well fed, healthy, and seemed at ease around people providing you didn’t act confrontational (like making eye contact too long or trying to pet them when they didn’t know you). The local people took care of the strays, giving them food and having collections for vet bills. The dogs and cats got to roam free and not starve, and the local community got to have cats and dogs in their lives, plus get natural pest control from them, less disease, and less risk from aggressive stray dog packs. Such a better way to live!
